EX-INDIAN MILITARY ACADEMY CHIEF CALLS ON SULTAN OF JOHOR
HM The Sultan of Johor, Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar today received a courtesy call from Lt Gen (Rtd) Tajinder Singh Shergill, who served as the Commander of the Indian Military Academy.
The premier military training school located at Dehradun is where the Tunku Mahkota of Johor, Tunku Ismail Ibni Sultan Ibrahim, enrolled as a cadet officer in July 2003 and was commissioned as a Lieutenant in December 2004.
He was later promoted to the rank of Captain in December 2007.General Shergill was the academy’s Commander at the time.
His Majesty and General Shergill exchanged pleasantries and anecdotes during the hour-long meeting at Istana Pasir Pelangi in Johor Bahru.
The retired general is now the Senior Advisor to the Chief Minister of Punjab State in India.
